DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start this morning following the last
two days of light to moderate business. Southern live deals have been marked
at mostly $155, fully steady with last week's weighted averages. While
Northern dressed sales were marked at mostly $249, $4 higher than the prior
week's weighted averages. Weekly trade volume totals look rather light,
especially in Nebraska and Iowa so we should need to see more business take
place at some point today. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are
around $157-plus in the South, and $150 to $152 in the North. Beef cutouts
are expected to be mixed with light to moderate box movement.

NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-800-369-7675, ext. 3678. All sales will be listed anonymously and
organized by state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A
weekly summary from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales
Reported to DTN page.
